The Branton Ramsey Legacy Foundation Story: From Vision to Action
The Branton Ramsey Legacy Foundation was created to honor the life of Branton who made life feel louder and more alive. When he walked into a room, people noticed. He brought energy and curiosity to everything he did.
From a young age, Branton loved technology, music, art, athletics, and of course, video games. If something involved creativity or community, he was all about it. He believed growth didn’t happen in just one way, and that passion often mattered more than having a perfectly defined path.
Branton truly stood apart because of the way he showed up for people. He encouraged his friends and supported his community. As a result, his warmth and presence helped others believe they could accomplish their goals, no matter how big.
In addition, Branton made people feel capable and confident. Because of his encouragement, many people found the courage to move forward, even when the path felt uncertain.
In 2021, tragedy cut Branton’s life short just as his future was beginning. As you can image, his loss left a Branton-sized hole in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
Because of that loss, Branton’s family and friends created the Branton Ramsey Legacy Foundation (BRLF) in 2025 to carry his spirit forward. Today, the foundation works to remove financial and access-based barriers that prevent students from pursuing what excites and motivates them.
How Our Story Inspires Students
Through programs focused on MAGIC — Music, Art, Gaming, IT, and Career Development— BRLF creates opportunities for learning, growth, and connection. In addition, the foundation invests in scholarships like the Branton “Buddy” Ramsey Memorial Scholarship at Carl Albert State College, workshops, and community programs like Teens Teach Tech that help youth build confidence, momentum, and a future they believe in.
Most importantly, the foundation continues the love, encouragement, and passion Branton shared with others throughout his life.
